Kayci grew up in Plano, works in Plano, and she and her husband are raising a family here. She has been working for a local hospital system since 2006 as a marketing and communications professional. Prior to that, she worked in Congressman Sam Johnson's office. 

 

Kayci is a member of the charter class of Plano West Senior High School and served on the student committee that chose the mascot and school colors. After graduating from Plano West, Kayci went on to Southern Methodist University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs with a minor in Political Science. She later received a Master of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M Commerce.

An advocate for volunteerism, Kayci began volunteering in our city in 2008 when she was appointed to the Plano Parks and Recreation Board where she served for five years and chaired for three years. She went on to serve on the Plano Planning and Zoning Commission for nearly three years. She was elected to serve the Citizens of Plano in May of 2017 and in that time she has advocated for improving aging infrastructure, investing in the safety of our kids at school, economic development, providing enhanced safety measures on our local trails and lowering  taxes. She currently serves as the Mayor Pro Tem on the City Council and on the Executive Board of the North Central Council of Governments.

 

Kayci and her husband, Jessie, have been married for 15 years and have two boys. The Princes are active members of Grace Outreach Center in Plano where Jessie has served as a pastor for 15 years and Kayci’s father, Gerald Brooks, has served as Senior Pastor since he and his wife, Geni, started the church in 1982.
